For the second time in a row the members of the Rotaract club of KDU took part in the Gangarama Navam Perehara. Twelve golden Lord Buddha Statues accompanied by the members were taken in the procession. The money donated by various onlookers during the procession were there after handed over to the temple.
The phase 2 of the Chronicles of Navam was also an initiative taken by the Rotaract Club of General sir John Kotelawala Defence University during the rotaract year 2014/15 as a sub-project of ‘Chronicles of Navam’. The 12 Buddha statues which were paraded in the Gangarama Navam Perahera were donated to various military and non-military establishments all over the island who were interested in joining our cause of promoting and uplifting cultural and religious awareness.The project was chaired by Rtr. Vinura Rathnayake.
